Karen McKeithen Schaede

Karen has practiced health care and employment law in the Carolinas since 1992. In the health care area, Karen represents all types of health care providers in business transactions and in their dealings with governmental agencies. She concentrates her health care practice on corporate compliance programs, HIPAA issues and training, and the other specialized challenges facing today’s health care industry. Regardless of the nature of the representation, Karen strives to identify all opportunities and options available to her clients to assist them in meeting their goals.

Karen is also available to provide supplemental or specialized health law assistance to law firms. Because of her extensive employment law experience, she is uniquely qualified to provide guidance needed by employers to successfully navigate the complicated and complex world of human resources. Karen provides legal counsel and business seminars for all types of businesses, ranging from five to 800 employees, assisting in the development of all aspects of human resources. Karen represents business clients across a wide array of industries and professions with respect to business formations, financing and financial restructuring, employment relations, real estate planning and ongoing advice with respect to day-to-day business operations.

Karen earned a Bachelor’s of Science in nursing from the University of North Florida and worked more than 10 years as a Registered Nurse in critical care, home health and hospice before earning a Juris Doctor from Mississippi College’s School of Law.
